This study aims to examine the impacts of the unstable and interim political situation resulted by the political changes called Arab Spring in 2011 on the tourism, one of the flagship sector of the Egyptian economy. President Mubarak and his 3 decade-lasting dictatorial, but stable political and economic regime was swept away by a revolutionary movement started on 25th January 2011. This affected promptly and negatively the economy including tourism sector and its implications can be felt even by now. The long-lasting transition period, including the one-year rule of the radical is- lamists backed president Mohammed Morsi does not facilitate the economic recovery. The impres- sive figures of economic growth of the pre-2011 years vanished by now. Egypt faces a series of in- ternal political crises while the national economy remains stagnant. The tourism sector feels it sharply in dropping number of foreign tourists, unutilized capacities and the increasing sectoral unemployment.
