I m A l l g e m e i n e n z e i g t d a s venöse B l u t häufiger Farbeveränderung e n a l s d a s a r t e r i e l l e . I n k a l t e n G e Farbeveränderung e n d e n s o l l das B l u t d i m k -l e r s e i n , a -l s i n gemässigten u n d h e i s s e n , w o r a u s w i r d e n S c h -l u s s z i e h e n dürfen, dass d i e r e i n e S c h a r l a c h f a r b e des B l u t e s m i t der v i t a l e n E n e r g i e , d i e s i c h a u c h b e i I n d i v i d u e n des N o r d e n s oft i n h o h e m G r a d e äussert, i n k e i n e m b e s t i m m t e n Verhältnisse steht.
W o h l a b e r können w i r a u s d e r F a r b e d e s B l u t e s F o l g e r u n g e n a u f d i e Intensität d e r A t h e m b e w e g u u g e n m a c h e n ; dafür s p r e c h e n die bereits o b e n m i t g e t h e i l t e n F a k t a a u s d e r v e r g l e i c h e n d e n A n a -t o m i e , f e r n e r d i e F a r b e d e s B l u -t e s , w e l c h e i n d e n A r -t e r i e n des Fötus z i r k u l i r t u n d w e l c h e d e r i m M o r b u s coeruleus ähnlich i s t . I n d i e s e r K r a n k h e i t g e h t e i n T h e i l d e s venösen B l u t e s u n m i t t e l b a r i n d i e l i n k e Herzhälfte über, o h n e v o r h e r s e i n e n D u r c h -g a n -g d u r c h d i e L u n -g e n -g e n o m m e n z u h a b e n . O b -g l e i c h sich n u n diese K r a n k h e i t n u r s e l t e n b i s i n s m i t t l e r e L e b e n s a l t e r h i n e i n z i e h t , s o i s t es d o c h v o n h o h e r W i c h t i g k e i t , dass d i e F u n k -t i o n e n des L e b e n s e i n e Z e i -t l a n g z i e m l i c h volls-tändig e r h a l -t e n w e r d e n , o b g l e i c h das a r t e r i e l l e B l u t n i e m a l s r e i n u n d u n g e m i s c h t i s t ; dabei müssen w i r a b e r n i c h t unberücksichtigt l a s s e n , dass, der E f f e k t dieser M i s s b i l d u n g n u r e i n p a t i e l l c r i s t ; n u r e i n T h e i l des B l u t e s , w e l c h e r s e i t s e i n e r l e t z t e n Z i r k u l a t i o n d u r c h den Körper d i e L u n g e n n i c h t berührt h a t , m i s c h t s i c h m i t d e m ar-t e r i e l l e n B l u ar-t e ; b e i d e r nächsar-ten Z i r k u l a ar-t i o n n i m m ar-t e r a b e r sei-n e sei-n W e g w i e d e r d u r c h d i e L u sei-n g e sei-n .
D i e Veränderungen d e r B l u t f a r b e i n K r a n k h e i t e n e r f o r d e r n späterhin n o c h e i n e e i g e n e ausführliche B e s p r e c h u n g ; n u r F o l -g e n d e s m a -g i n B e z u -g d a r a u f , dass w i r d i e s e Veränderun-gen häufig n a c h d e r F a r b e d e r Körp9roberfläche b e u r t h e i l e n , h i e r s e i n e S t e l l e finden: H u n t e r w i e s s c h o n a u f d e n eigenthümlichen U m s t a n d h i n , dass, während w i r das B l u t a l s r o t h b e s c h r e i b e n , w i r die V e n e n gewöhnlich b l a u e r b l i c k e n , u n d g i e b t dabei a n , dass das B l u t i n e i n e m B e c k e n d u r c h e i n e n dünnen U e b e r z u g v o n F a s e r s t o f f e i n e b l a u e Färbung e r h a l t e . W e u n s i c h e i n e s e h r u n g l e i c h e S p e c k h a u t b i l d e t , s o e r s c h e i n e n e i n z e l n e S t e l l e n n o r m a l , a n d e r e v o l l k o m m e n
i n d i g o f a r b e n ; a n s d i e s e m G r u n d e können w i r e i n e n s c h w a c h e n Faserstoffüberzug a n d e n i n n e r n Venenwänden v o r a u s s e t z e n n n d ' s o d i e blaue Färbung d e r s e l b e n erklären. I n . m a n c h e n Fällen e r . s c h e i n e n d i e V e n e n grünlich u n d h i e r künuen w i r d i e B e d i n g u n g z u d i e s e m n i c h t s e l t e n e n Phänomen i n d e r E n t g e g e n s t e l l u n g e i -n e r l e b h a f t a u s g e b i l d e t e -n F l e i s c h f a r b e r u -n d u m d i e Ve-ne-näste s u c h e n , w o b e i s i c h d i e M i t e l e m e n t a r f a r b e z u m R o t h , nämlich G r ü n , b i l d e t ( M a i t l a n d ) . D i e v e r s c h i e d e n e n unnatürlichen Z u -stände d e r H a u t f a r b e s i n d f o l g e n d e :
1 ) U e b e r m ä s s i g r o t h e F a r b e d e r K ö r p e r o b e r f l ä c h e . D i e s e z e i g t a n , dass d i e Veränderungen d e s B l u t e s i n d e n K a pillargefässen n i c h t regelmässig v o n S t a t t e n g e h e n , w a s g e -wöhnlich v o n e i n e r z u g r o s s e n K r a f t u n d S c h n e l l i g k e i t i n d e r Z i r k u l a t i o n herrührt. ( I u s o l c h e u Fällen fliesst b e i d e m A d e r -l a s s e d a s B -l u t s t o s s w e i s s e a n s , i n d e m d i e P r o p u -l s i o n s k r a f t d e s H e r z e n s s i c h b i s a u f d i e V e n e n a u s d e h n t . ) A u s s e r d e m k a n n j e n e r a b n o r m e Z u s t a n d d e r Körperfarbe d u r c h z u e n e r g i s c h e R e -s p i r a t i o n , o d e r e i n e überflü-s-sige A n z a h l v o n Blutkörperchen b e d i n g t w e r d e n . D a s B l u t b i e t e t i n s o l c h e n Fällen e i n e s c h a r l a c h r o t h e Färbung. S o f a n d es B a g i i v i ü s häufig b e i P a t i e n -t e n , d i e a m h e k -t i s c h e n F i e b e r l i -t -t e n u n d S i m o n P a u l i häl-t dieses S y m p t o m i n p r o g n o s t i s c h e r B e z i e h u n g für s e h r ungünstig.
Gewöhnlich z e i g t s i c h S c h a r l a c h f a r b e d e s V c n e n b l u t e s b e i h e f t i -g e r a l l -g e m e i n e r A u f r e -g u n -g . D e r A d e r l a s s b e i e i n e m j u n -g e n M a n n e n d e r a u V a r i o l a l i t t , e r g a b V e n e n b l u t v o n l e b h a f t a r t e -r i e l l e -r F a -r b e ; e i n ähnliches Ve-rhältniss w i -r d h i n u n d w i e d e -r i n s e h r v i e l e n Fällen v o n I l h e u m a l i s m u s acutus b e m e r k t . D a s B l u t ' a u s d e r V e n a basüica e i n e s j u n g e n Mädchens w a r z u e r s t d u n k l e r a l s gewöhnlich, z e i g t e s i c h a b e r n a c h w e n i g e n M i n u t e n s c h o n r o t h U n d m i t p u r p u r f a r b e n e n S t r e i f e n g e m i s c h t . Während d e r m e i s t e n Eutzündungszustände n e h m e n d i e äusseren Körper-t h e i l e e i n e höhere RöKörper-thung a n , n a c h d e r e n G r a d w i r n i c h Körper-t a l l e i n das Prädominiren d e s a r t e r i e l l e n o d e r venösen S y s t e m s i n d e m b e t r e f f e n d e n T h e i l e , s o n d e r n a u c h d i e grössere o d e r g e r i n g e r e Intensität d e r Entzündung z u b e s t i m m e n vermögen. 2 ) U e b e r m ä s s i g d u n k e l e F ä r b u n g d e s B l u t e s u n d d e r K ö r p e r o b e r f l ä c h e . S i e d e u t e t d a r a u f h i n , dass die F u n k t i o n d e r , L u n g e n u n d s o m i t d i e B e z i e h u n g z w i s c h e n B l u t u n d L u f t gestört i s t , o d e r dass d i e Z i r k u l a t i o n l a n g s a m v o u S t a l t e n g e h t , oder e n d l i c h dass d e r S a l z g e h a l t des B l u t e s m a n -g e l h a f t i s t . I n d e m frühesten S t a d i u m a k u t e r K r a n k h e i t e n , w o j die Z i r k u l a t i o n m e h r d u r c h Kougestiv-Zustände unterdrückt als d u r c h Entzündung a u f g e r e g t i s t , z e i g t d a s e x t r a v a s a l e B l u t eine ungewöhnlich d u n k e l e , m e h r s c h w a r z e a l s r o t h e Färbung, w e l c h e v o n d e u beiden e r s t g e n a n n t e n U r s a c h e n herrührt. I n e i n e r F o r m d e r C h o l e r a , w o d i e H a u t b l a u e r s c h e i n t , i s t das B l u t s c h w a r z , ebenso i n d e m l e t z t e n S t a d i u m des S k o r b u t s , i n w e l c h e m " e i n e g r o s s e Lividität d e r H a u t h e r v o r t r i t t . I n beiden Fällen fiudet s i c h fast g a r k e i n S a l z i m B l u t e v o r . I n K r a n k h e i t e n m i t e r s c h w e r - i t e r R e s p i r a t i o n w i e z . ß . i n A s t h m a , c h r o n i s c h e n K a t a r r h e n u . s. w . o d e r b e i e i n e m plötzlichen S t o c k e n des A t h e m s , w i e - i n d e r A s p h y x i e , i s t d a s B l u t d u n k e l , w a s s i c h a u c h d u r c h eine b e i diesen L e i d e n v o r w a l t e n d e z y a n o t i s c h e Gesichtsfärbung verräth. 1 D i e A l t e n gründeten a u f e i n e plötzlich e i n t r e t e n d e l i v i d e H a u t - .|

E s i s t n i c h t m e i n e A b s i c h t , h i e r a u f d i e S c h w a n k u n g e n i n d e m Mengeverhältuiss d e s B l u t e s u n d s e i n e v e r s c h i e d e u t l i c h e V e r t h e i l u n g i n d e n e i n z e l n e n Körpergebilden, w o v o n g e -w i s s i n v i e l e n Fällen e i n bleiches A u s s e h n b e d i n g t -w i r d , näher e i n z u g e h e n . V i e l m e h r w o l l e n w i r h i e r n u r v o n d e n j e n i g e n Fäll e n s p r e c h e n , w o d a s o b e n g e n a n n t e Phänomen v o n e i n e r a b s o Fäll u -t e n V e r m i n d e r u n g des Häma-tins b e d i n g -t i s -t . D u r c h Hämorrha-g i e n w i r d d i e F a r b e des i m O r Hämorrha-g a n i s m u s zurückbleibenden B l u t e s beträchtlich r e d u z i r t , w e i l d a s Hämatin s i c h v i e l l a n g s a m e r u n d s c h w e r e r w i d e r e r s e t z t , a l s d i e übrigen B l u t b e s t a n d t h e i l e . D a s B l u t k a n n i n h i n r e i c h e n d e r M e n g e u n d genügender Qualität für d i e E r h a l t u n g d e r L e b e n s f u u k t i o n e n v o r h a n d e u s e i n , a b e r d e r F a r b e s t o f f i s t i n s o g e r i n g e m Verhältnisse d a , dass d i e g e s a m m t e Hantoberfläche b l e i c h e r s c h e i n t . A u s s e r i n v i e l e n K r a n k b e i t s -zuständen e r s c h e i n t d i e s e Hautblässe, herrührend v o n M a n g e l a n Hämatin, b e i M e n s c h e n v o n s o g e n a n n t e r l y m p h a t i s c h e r K o n s t i t u t i o n , d e r e n e n t s c h i e d e n e r G e g e u s a t z v o n d e r s a n g u i n i s c h e n K o n s t i t u t i o n g e g e b e n w i r d . D a s s d i e G e s u n d h e i t u n d * K r a f t d e s O r g a n i s m u s v o n d e m regelmässigen Verhältnisse des Hämatins i n h o h e m G r a d e b e d i n g t w i r d , z e i g t u n t e r v i e l e n B e i s p i e l e n a m e v i d e n t e s t e n d i e B l e i c h s u c h t , e i n e K r a n k h e i t , d e r e n c h a r a k t e r i s t i -s c h e r Z u g M a n g e l a n Hämatin i -s t u n d v o n w e l c h e r M a r -s h a l l H a l l a u s s a g t , dass s i e e i n u n w i d e r l e g l i c h e s A r g u m e n t für d a s B e s t e h e n e i n e r H u m o r a l p a t h o l g i e g e b e .
D i e F a r b e d e s B l u t e s w i r d übrigens n i c h t b l o s s d u r c h V e r änderungen des Hämatins m o d i f i z i r t , s o n d e r n a u c h d u r c h V e r -änderungen i n d e r F a r b e des L i q u o r sanguinis. D a s S e r u m des B l u t e s k a n n v e r s c h i e d e n t l i c h e S c h a t t i r u n g e n a n n e h m e n , w e l c h e n a m e n t l i c h i n p a t h o l o g i s c h e n Zuständen h e r v o r t r e t e n u n d d e s h a l b b e i d e r B e u r t e i l u n g d e r s e l b e n m i t i n B e t r a c h t k o m m e n . D i e v e r s c h i e d e n e u Färbungen d e s L i q u o r sanguinis z e i g e n s i c h i n d e r a l l g e m e i n e n Hautfärbuug, n a m e n t l i c h a b e r i n d e r F a r b e d e r L i p p e n , d e r K o n j u n k t i v a d e s A u g a p f e l s u n d a n d e r e r m i t z a r t e r H a u t b e d e c k t e r Körpertheile. A b g e s e h e n v o n d i e s e n Verhältnissen i s t es a b e r u n z w e i -f e l h a -f t g e w i s s , dass s e h r o -f t d i e F a r b e d e r äussern T h e i l e v o n den F a r b e s t o f f e n i m L i q u o r sanguinis, d e n i n d e r chemischen B e s c h r e i b u n g des B l u t e s angeführten g e l b e n u n d b l a u e n P r i n -z i p i e n , m o d i f i -z i r t w i r d .
W a s d e n U r s p r u n g n n d N u t z e n d e s g e l b e n F a r b e s t o f f e s a n -b e t r i f f t , s o v e r d i e n t zuvörderst Erwähnung, dass d e r s e l -b e w e d e r i m V e r d a u u n g s - n o c h i m A t h m u n g s p r o z e s s e s e i n e n U r s p r u n g zn b a b e n s c h e i n t , i n d e m d a s S e r u m d e s C h y l u s n i c h t d i e g e r i n g s t e S p u r dieses P r i n z i p e s d a r b i e t e t u n d K r a n k h e i t e n d e r L u n g e n d u r c h a u s k e i n e n E i n f l u s s a u f d a s . V o r k o m m e n d e s s e l b e n üben.
W i r können v i e l m e h r m i t D e n i s a n n e h m e n , dass d e r gelbe Färbestoff e i n P r o d u k t d e r Leberthätigkeit i s t u n d i m Gebiete der V e n a p o r t a r u m s e i n e E n t s t e h u n g findet. B e d e n k e n w i r , dass d i e P f o r t a d e r i h r B l u t a u s d e m D a r m k a n a l e erhält, so k a u n m a n a l l e r d i n g s s a g e n , dass d e r g e l b e F a r b e s t o f f e i n P r o -d u k t -d e r V e r -d a u u n g i m w e i t e r e n S i n n e -d e s W o r t e s i s t . G l e i c h d e n a n d e r e n B e s t a u d t h e i l e n d e s B l u t e s k o m m t a u c h d e r gelbe u n d d e r blaue F a r b e s t o f f i n b e s t i m m t e n Verhältnissen v o r , w e l c h e j e d o c h i n n e r h a l b g e w i s s e r G r e n z e n v a r i i r e n . W i r d d e r gelbe F a r b e s t o f f i n g e r i n g e r M e n g e i n d e r H a u t a b g e l a g e r t , s o n i m m t diese e i n e e i g e n t h i i m l i c h e b r a u n e Färbung a n , w e l c h e d a s P r o d u k t d e r g e l b e n F a r b e j e n e s P r i n z i p e s u n d d e r r o t h e n B l u t -f a r b e i s t .
V i e l e P e r s o n e n , j a s o g a r v i e l e Völkerstämme z e i g e n eine g e l b l i c h e , k u p f e r b r a u n e o d e r olivenähuliche F a r b e , d i e b a l d m e h r , b a l d w e n i g e r i n t e n s i v a u s g e s p r o c h e n i s t . E s hängt d i e s e Fär-b u n g n i c h t v o n e i n e m grösseren .Mengeverhältniss d e s g e l Fär-b e n P r i n z i p e s i m B l u t e a b , s o n d e r n v o n e i u e r stärkeren D e p o s i t u m dieses S t o f f e s i n d e r H a u t . D i e s e Veränderung d e r H a u t f a r b e i s t a n a l o g d e n W i r k u n g e n , w e l c h e d e r i n n e r e G e b r a u c h des s a l
p e t e r s a u r e n S i l b e r s h e r v o r r u f t ; d i e P a r t i k e l n d i e s e s S a l z e s w e r -d e n m i t -d e r Z e i t i n -d a s llete muoosum a b g e s e t z t n n -d b r i n g e n so u n t e r M i l w i r k n n g d e s L i c h t e s e i n e g r a u b l a u e Färbung d e r äusseren Körperteile h e r v o r .
D e r N u t z e n d e s g e l b e n F a r b e s t o f f e s möchte n a c h d e m G e -s a g t e n f o l g e n d e r -s e i n : E r -s t e n -s -s o l l die-se-s P r i n z i p m e h r a l -s d i e a n d e r n B l u t b e s t a n d t h e i l e z u r B e r e i t u n g d e r G a l l e b e i t r a g e n ( w a s j e d o c h m i t d e r H y p o t h e s e v o n D e n i s i n e i n i g e m W i d e r s p r u c h s t e h t ) .
