Title of the study: The General Practitioners' opinions also matter - a sur
vey with Hungarian GPs
Supervisor: Péter Szabó (SZTE ETSZK)
Abstract
In this article I would like to expound the results of a survey made among Hungarian General Practitioners, whom are probably the most important actors of the primary care. I am not going to examine any other sub-system of the country's health care system. This article basically focuses on two top
ics: the opinion of the GPs regarding the Hungarian primary care and the presence of unofficial financial benefit given to the GPs in hope of getting a better medical service. The survey was online, the responder sample is not representative, nevertheless consists of GPs only. The list of questions was standard and structured. As a result of the research, we can say that the pre
sent situation of the Hungarian basic health care system is unsatisfactory.
The patients and the GPs share this experience. The system faces many structural challenges that are need to be solved as soon as possible. Fur
thermore, unofficial allowances given to GPs is quite frequent in Hungary.
