International Student State Representative for Recruitment
As part of the internationalisation process, the University of Miskolc (UM) aims to increase the number of its international full-degree students. To reach this aim the University launches the International Student State Representative for Recruitment Call.
Who can apply?
Any international student can apply for the position who is currently enrolled as a student in any degree programme at UM.
What does it mean to be an international student state representative for recruitment (ISSRR)?
International student state representatives strive to make UM known in their home country by contacting the relevant stakeholders in their countries like former universities, friends and personal network to promote the English language degree programmes, the academic and research potential of UM in order to recruit international students from the given region. While doing so they officially represent UM towards third parties.
What are the duties of an international student state representative for recruitment?
He/she
• takes part in a training course which provides them with information about the University of Miskolc organised by the Directorate for International Relations (DIR)
• successfully passes the exam at the end of the course,
• is available to facilitate international candidates interested in UM to provide information about the university,
• connects interested students or universities with UM DIR to provide them with further details,
• assists the promotional team of DIR through active participation in social media campaigns for UM,
• makes herself/himself available to UM DIR on request for international events organized at the University.
What is the process? How to become an ISSRR?
• Applications must be submitted in the form of an application form.
Deadline: 31 January 2022.
• Applicants approved get an invitation to a compulsory training course ending with an exam.
Date of training: 2nd February, 2-4 PM, Venue: A/4, Senate Hall
• In case of a successful exam, state representatives receive a CERTIFICATE and can start the recruiting work.
What are the benefits of being an ISSRR?
• State representatives get to know a lot more about UM than their peers via participating in a special training.
• Via recruitment activities, they gain skills that employers appreciate and cannot be acquired in the classroom.
• State representatives can improve their CV with some real on ground experience with a certificate on successful participation.
• It also means a financial bonus: after each enrolled student recruited by the ISSRR who paid the tuition fee, ISSRR receives 10% of the paid tuition fee in relation to the first semester.
Conditions for Payment of the Bonus
• The applicant for the study programme, recruited by the ISSRR, meets all admission requirements set by the University of Miskolc, pays the due tuition fee on time and enrols the University of Miskolc in person.
• The applicant, when completing the online application form to apply for the given study programme, declares on the application form that he/she has submitted his/her application due to the recruiting activity carried out by the ISSRR:
“I hereby confirm that I was recruited by the following student of the University of Miskolc:
…………. (name of the student)”
This statement on the application form made by the applicant is the official proof to identify the identity of the recruiter (ISSRR).
What is the duration of the position?
• Until the active student status of ISSRR stands or until withdrawal.
