Other skills: I have completed a range of short courses related to community development (Northern Collage, Barnsley), planning, analysis and evaluation of development policies (Central European University), mentoring and couching during local economic development programmes (UNDP), etc. I am familiar with training methods and environment, including the application of innovative audiovisual methodologies. Alongside working as an academic researcher and university lecturer, I have always been doing consultancy for NGOs, public bodies and commercial companies. I am a good networker, able to make and maintain connections and social relations with people from very varied social, cultural background. I am good at facilitation, resolution of conflicts and handling group dynamics in difficult situations. I am able and willing to work in a good team, but I also have a proven capacity to work independently. I am proficient with most common computer software, and am able and willing to learn new things. 11. Key qualifications:
• I have 14 years experience working as a consultant in the field of design, implementation and evaluation (including budgeting, institution building, organisational and social development) of rural and agr-environmental policies and social policies. I have worked for government, national and international NGOs (WWF, RSPB), multilaterals (UNDP, EU Commission), and commercial consultancies (PWC, IEEP, METIS, AEIDL, etc.) in ex-ante, mid-term and ex-post evaluation of EU policies, and in projects aimed at the development of indicators for socio- economic effects.
• I have 15 years experience in rural and social research, concerning agricultural and development policies, planning, implementation and evaluation, all over Europe, with special regard to, Spain, England, Ireland, Finland, Hungary and some other CEE countries. My academic focus throughout this period has been understanding and enabling better governance during programming and implementation of rural policies in transitional economies.
• I have more than 10 years of experience working with the EU LEADER Programme.
I conducted participatory and action research in Hungary, Spain, Scandinavia and Ireland. I have been a trainer and mentor for a number of Hungarian LEADER action groups, and I am currently member of a Hungarian LAG. I participated in ex-ante, mind-term and ex-post evaluations of Hungarian rural development programmes.
• I have 10 years experience working as a mentor for local development groups, providing training, community development, facilitation.
• I worked with ethnic minorities (Roma) and other socially excluded groups in order to achieve social inclusion, community building and capacity building in the framework of the UNDP-ICSSZEM Cserehát Programme.
• I am an experienced trainer and workshop leader. I have designed and delivered individual sessions and full programmes.
• I have experience in designing local development programmes, social animation and reconfiguration of local values.
• I have experience in working with (and giving training to) high level officials and state agents in the field of rural policies.
• I have taken part in central evaluation (ex-ante, mid-term, ex-post) of rural development and agri-environmental programmes.
• I have experience of participatory evaluation, using novel methodologies and
technologies to enable communities and individuals to enable social learning as part of the development process itself.
