Abstract
When researching the First World War we can Find unprocessed issues.
Therefore, 1 have decided to examine the 20th century history of my home town, Gyomaendrőd in detail. For my research 1 used documents found in the Békés County Archives of Békés Branch Archives, and National Archives of the Hungarian National Archives. It can be said Gyoma and Endrőd vil
lages that besides military losses, World War I was a serious backdrop for the examined society. The period of war it can be stated that the number of births and marriages has drastically decreased, while the number of deaths has increased significantly. At the end of the war, a woman had a surplus in there was a female majority in the population. The 18-50 age group of men was most affected by war losses.
