Course description

Research and research methods 1 Aim of the course

Aim of the course:

The course provides an insight into selected research in developmental- and clinical child psychology. The student is involved into current research of the field, chooses a research topic, and conducts a systematic literature search on that topic or prepares a research plan.

Learning outcomes, competences knowledge:

• Wide theoretical knowledge in the chosen topic

• Methodology of conducting a systematic literature review

• Methodology of preparing a research plan

attitude:

• The student carries out the research in accordance with the ethical standards

• The student carries out the research in accordance with the scientific standards skills:

• The student will be able to find a focus for the systematic literature search/research plan

• The student will be able to collect and synthetize the relevant scientific literature

• The student will be able to formulate a research hypothesis based on the literature review

• The student will be able to prepare an appropriate research plan for testing the hypothesis

• The student will be able to evaluate the quality of the research plan (according to ethical and scientific standards, practicability)
