Family Support Scheme for Student Parents at CEU

Proposed Student Family Support (SFS)

CEU will assist student parents by providing them an additional yearly stipend of 500,000 HUF (roughly, 1600 EUR at this time) per child. Students will need to apply by filling out the Student Family Support (SFS) form and declaring that they don’t receive support from their home countries. In case CEU’s support exceeds the amount they receive per year from their home countries, students will receive the difference by providing valid documentation about the state support they receive.

Eligibility for the proposed Student Family Support (SFS)

 Full time enrolled student status in KEE (accredited programs in Hungary) and CEU (non-accredited programs in Hungary), regardless of financial aid package, at the beginning of enrolment at CEU

 Citizens of all countries

 Age limit for children to be supported: up to age 14

 Including children born in a registered partnership

 Only one grant will be offered per child

 Recipients of state child financial support from their home countries will receive the difference between that amount and the CEU financial support for student parents

 Children officially residing in Hungary for the whole academic year, for which the support was granted, proven by valid residence permit and accommodation form, or registry card and address card

 Submitted and approved SFS application form (please find form and procedure below)

 An approved SFS request is valid for one academic year only; a new application must be submitted and will be reviewed at the start of every academic year

 MA students: for the whole duration of studies (for 2-year MA students: including summer)

 PhD students: for 36 months altogether, parallel to their stipend

 Includes time spent on research trips and CEU research grants such the Doctoral Research Support Grant

 Students on leave are not eligible
