ELTE’s Faculty of Humanities is proud to receive an increasing number of fee-paying international students from all four corners of the world. Our figures indicate that there is a growing interest in humanities and the mutual understanding of one another’s cultures, languages, and civilizations.
In AY 2020/2021 Spring Semester, our Department of International Affairs handled the registration of over
600 international students
arriving from more than35 different countries

Scholarship the Government of Hungary launched in 2013, our International Office registers more than150 new students
year to year.Popular programs include: English and Hungarian Foundation Courses, English and American Studies BA, Film Studies MA, Logic and Theory of Science MA, Semiotics MA, English Studies MA, American Studies MA and the Instruction of English as a Foreign Language MA.

Scholarship program for foreign students
Founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013
The program aims to promote cultural understanding, economic and cultural relations between Hungary and other countries.
It is based on bilateral education agreements between Hungary and the governments of the sending countries,
Already available on five continents in almost 80 countries and territories, attracting more than 5000 international students each year.
Applicants are offered more than 600 full degree programmes, covering all higher education fields at all degree levels, including part-time and doctoral programmes.
FOR EVERY FULL-TIME SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER:

The University starts the Academic Year of 2021/22 with personal attendance.
Personal attendance of students is compulsory.
ELTE Epidemiological Operative Coordinating Body recommends for all University Citizens to take the opportunity to be vaccinated.
Lack of vaccination protection alone will not entitle our students to have an exceptional study schedule with distance education.

TEMA Master’s Course has been certified by the European Commission as an Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus course.
The 2-year-long (120 ECTS) European Master’s Course TEMA European Territories (Civilization, Nation, Region, City): Identity and Development proposes the analysis of political use and scientific representation of territorial units in an interdisciplinary, research-based curriculum.
Organized in four major modules: civilization, nation, region and city , that represent four research scales, as well as four different approaches to historical, political, social and cultural issues of space and those of territory, the TEMA Master’s Course is offered by a consortium of the following European universities: Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest, École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales of Paris, University of Catania and Charles University of Prague.
