Medzi nimi určite dominuje medzinárodný projekt Modrá krv, tlačiarenská čerň, ktorý inicioval István a viedol spoluprácu najlepších odborníkov z Maďarska, Rakúska, Slovenska a Chorvátska.

Želám Ti, milý István všetko dobré, veľa zdravia a silu do ďalšej tvorivej práce.

Prof. PhDr. Dušan Katuščák, PhD., prodekan pre vedu a výskum, Fakulta humanitných vied, Žilinská univerzita v Žiline

Friendly greeting to Professor István Monok

I remember István very well from the time when he was the Director General of the Hungarian National Library (Országos Széchényi Könyvtár) in 1999–2009. In 2000–2012 I was the Director General of the Slovak National Library. On the Hungarian side, I had the best partner and friend. These were the years in which one of the most important Hungarian cultural institutions was led by an outstanding scientist of the European format. As director Professor Monok has undertaken exceptional acts in this institution, hardly achievable by some political appointees. There are dozens of original publications and projects as results of his amazing activities. A great scientist, historian, bibliographer, teacher and an outstanding connoisseur of the European book culture. I appreciate very much about him that he has not left his scientific and organisational endeavours only in history but vigorously promoted and developed digitisation projects, too. For almost 10 years we used to meet at the Conference of European National Librarians (CENL). Meeting István was always a great experience for me and almost each meeting and visit led to creation of unique projects. Among them will certainly dominate the international project Blue Blood, Black Ink, initiated and managed by István, leading a cooperation of the best experts from Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and Croatia.

Dear István, I wish you all the best, perfect health and strength for more creative work.

Professor Dušan Katuščák, PhD., Vice-Dean for Science and Research, Faculty of Humanities, University of Žilina, Slovak Republic
