MA in Cultural Heritage Studies / 2 YEARS / Our program combines theoretical approaches to cultural heritage with practical knowledge through fieldwork and internships at heritage organizations. The result is hands-on, thorough academic training that prepares future heritage experts and practitioners with a critical understanding of the historical, social, policy and management aspects of tangible, intangible and environmental heritage.

Our faculty’s expertise crosses borders and disciplines. They include historians and archeologists with experience in European and Asian projects, international critical heritage experts involved in EU projects and anthropologists specializing in African and European cultures. Our students also come from a variety of backgrounds, such as historical studies, creative and performing arts, architecture and urban development, sociology and management.

“I chose this program, because it offers a contemporary and multidisciplinary perspective on cultural heritage. Our professors facilitated real-world learning by taking us outside of the classroom as much as possible – from field trips and city visits to exhi- bitions and museums – so we could learn from working professionals and leading scholars on-site. This has aided me to think outside the box from my previous experiences. I will draw upon these lessons throughout my career, which hopefully will be in the conservation of built heritage.”
