Hält d i e K r a n k h e i t l a n g e a n , so lösen s i e h d i e H a a r e v o n m e h r oder m i n d e r grofsen Strecken des K i n n e s ab. D i a g n o s e . — E s i s t w i c h t i g , d i e Sycosis von den übrigen H a u t k r a n k h e i t e n z u u n t e r s c h e i d e n , w e l c h e am K i n n , a n d e n W a n g e n u n d d e n L i p p e n s i c h e n t w i c k e l n können, z u denen insbesondere Ecthyma, Impetigo fgurata, pustulöse u n d tuberkulöse S y p h i l i d e n u n d F u r u n k e l n gc-hören.
D i e Ecthyma-Pusteln s i n d gröfser u n d stärker e n t zündet, a l s d i e d e r Sycosis. D i e K r u s t e n des Ecthyma s i n d gröfser, d i c k e r u n d h a f t e n i n n i g e r a n ; s i e hinterlas-sen a u c h n i e m a l s tuberkulöse Verhärtungen. D i e kleinen, k a u m v o r r a g e n d e n P u s t e l n der Impetigo figurata sind nicht z u g e s p i t z t , w i e d i e d e r Sycosis; aufserdem e n t w i c k e l n sie sich s c h n e l l e r u n d t r e t e n m e h r acut auf. D i e s y p h i l i t i -schen T u b e r k e l n s i n d o b e n m e h r a b g e r u n d e t ; sie s i n d glän-z e n d u n d s c h e i n e n i n d e n oberflächlichen L a g e n der C u t i s s i c h z u e n t w i c k e l n ; s i e e n t s t e h e n g l e i c h d e n e n d e r Sycosis aus P u s t e l n . I n d e m A u g e n b l i c k e , w o d i e Z a h l der P u s t e l n s i c h v e r r i n g e r t , u n d w o d i e v i o -l e t t e Färbung d e r entzündeten H a u t a u f b a -l d b e v o r s t e h e n d e H e i l u n g z u d e u t e n s c h e i n t , e r f o l g t o f t o h n e w a h r n e h m b a r e V e r a n l a s s u n g e i n n e u e r , m e h r o d e r m i n d e r b e d e u t e n d e r

A u s b r a c h . I n a n d e r n Fällen, w o e i n e beträchtliche Ent-zündung über das g a n z e K i n n s i c h e r s t r e c k t , u n d w o man eine D a u e r v o n m e h r e n J a h r e n fürchten möchte, sieht m a n s i e b e i a n g e m e s s e n e m diätetischen V e r h a l l e n u n d nach G e b r a u c h zweckmäfsiger M i t t e l l e i c h t s c h w i n d e n . I m AU-g e m e i n e n z e i AU-g t s i c h d i e Sycosis d a n n a m hartnäckiAU-gsten, w e n n s i e n a c h U e b e r g a n g i n d e n c h r o n i s c h e n Z u s t a n d noch pustulös u n d - w a h r h a f t entzündlich b l e i b t . - I n dergleichen Fällen gehört s i e z u d e n allerhartnäckigsten H a u t k r a n k h e i -t e n . I m S o m m e r v e r s c h w i n d e -t d i e Sycosis m a n c h m a l , k e h r t aber d a n n o f t i m W i n t e r w i e d e r .
§. 5 2 4 . B e h a n d l u n g . — D i e erste Vorsichtsmaafs-r c g e l b e s t e h t d a Vorsichtsmaafs-r i n , dafs m a n d e n B a Vorsichtsmaafs-r t n i c h t m i t t e l s t ei-nes R a s i e r m e s s e r s , s o n d e r n m i t e i n e r S c h e e r e abschneiden läfst, i n d e m d u r c h E i n w i r k u n g des Messers d i e Enlzün-d u n g bestänEnlzün-dig gesteigert w i r Enlzün-d .
I s t d i e Sycosis erst kürzlich, e n t s t a n d e n , h a t sie sich b e i c i u e m sonst gesunden u n d kräftigen M a n n e e n t w i c k e l t , s t e h e n d i e P u s t e l n z a h l r e i c h u n d d i c h t n e b e n einander, so dafs d i e Entzündung s e h r acut z u s e i n s c h e i n t , so mufs m a n a l l g e m e i n e o d e r örtliche B l u t e n t z i e h u n g e n i n A n w e n -d u n g b r i n g e n , -d i e m a n m e h r m a l s w i e -d e r h o l e n k a n n ; -die B l u t e g e l müssen n u r n i e a n d i e entzündeten S t e l l e n an-gesetzt w e r d e n . Hält d i e Sycosis a n o d e r b r i c h t sie, nach-d e m sie s c h o n nachgelassen h a l l e , w i e nach-d e r h e r v o r , so mufs m a n w i e d e r u m e i n e n A d e r l a f s a n s t e l l e n , u n d b i s w e i l e n vor-h e r n o c vor-h B l u t e g e l r u n d u m das K i n n a n s e t z e n . Jedenfalls aber m u f s m a n b e i A n w e n d u n g u n d W i e d e r h o l u n g der B l u t e n t z i e h u n g e n n a c h d e r B e s c h a f f e n h e i t d e r gesammten C o n s t i t u t i o n , nach d e r H e f t i g k e i t d e r Entzündung, nach der A u s b r e i t u n g u n d F r e q u e n z d e r pustulösen E r u p t i o n e n , u n d n a c h d e m E r f o l g e e i n m a l v o r g e n o m m e n e r B l u t e n t z i e -h u n g e n sic-h r i c -h t e n .
G l e i c h z e i t i g v e r o r d n e t m a n a l l g e m e i n e u n d Örtlich er-w e i c h e n d e Bäder u n d m i l d e Abführmittel.
B e s t e h t die Sycosis seit langer. Z e i t , s i n d d u r c h w i e d e r
h o l t e n A u s b r u c h der P u s t e l n m e h r o d e r m i n d e r w e i t v e r b r e i -tete tuberkulöse Verhärtungen e n t s t a n d e n , so können örtli-che B l u t e n t z i e h u n g e n n o c h m i t E r f o l g verknüpft s e i n ; d o c h mufs m a u s i e s c h o n s e l t e n e r u n d n u r b e i kräftigen, s a n g u i -nischen S u b j e k t e n i n A n w e n d u n g b r i n g e n . A e l t e r e n o d e r schwächlich-constituirterK I n d i v i d u e n würden s i e s c h a d e n .
I s t d u r c h während e i n i g e r W o c h e n fortgesetzte A n w e n d u n g e r w e i c h e n d e r , örtlich a n g e b r a c h t e r M i t t e l E r w e i -chung d e r T u b e r k e l n z u S t a n d e g e b r a c h t , so b e d i e n t m a n sich a u f diese T h e i l e auflösend er E i n r e i b u n g e n m i t S a l b e n , deren B e s t a n d t e i l s a l p e t e r s a u r e s Q u e c k s i l b e r , r o t h e s Q u e c k s i l b e r o x y d u n d S u b l i m a t b i l d e n . I n d e r nämlichen A b -s i c h t w e n d e t m a n -s c h w e f e l - , j o d - o d e r k a l i h a l t i g e S a l b e n an. M e h r m a l s g e l a n g m i r s c h n e l l e Z c r l b e i l u n g d e r n a c h Sycosis zurückgebliebenen T u b e r k e l n n a c h E i n r e i b u n g e i n e r Salbe aus Kali hjdriodinicum m i t ; S c h w e f e l . S o b a l d n e u e P u s t e l n s i c h z e i g e n , m u f s m a n d i e E i n r e i b u n g e n a u s s e t z e n .
A u c h d e r Dampfbäder h a t m a n s i c h m i t E r f o l g b e -d i e n t , u m T u b e r k e l n z u e r w e i c h e n u n -d i h r e Z c r l b e i l u n g zu befördern. A n w e n d u n g d e r Schwefclwüsscr v o n B a r e ges, C a u t e r e t s , A i x i n S a v o j e n [ s o w i e a u c h d e r b e k a n n -t e n d e u -t s c h e n , S . } , i n F o r m v o n Sprilzbädern, bewähr-t s i c h u n t e r diesen nämlichen Umständen h e i l s a m .
I n s e h r v e r a l t e t e n u n d hartnäckigen Fällen v o n S y cosis e n d l i c h schaffen m e h r o d e r w e n i g e r a u s g e d e h n t e , o b e r -flächliche C a u t c r i s a l l o n e n m i t c o n c e n l r i r t e n Säuren o d e r einer Auflösung v o n Kali causiieum m a n c h m a l e n t s c h i e -dene Besserung.
O f t b e d i e n t m a n s i c h g e g e n c h r o n i s c h e Sycosis, w e n n dieselbe b e i j u n g e n u n d kräftigen I n d i v i d u e n a u f t r i t t , m i t N u t z e n der Abführmittel. T r o t z d e r Abführmittel zeigte d i e Z u n g e k e i n e Rö-t h u n g , u n d d e r A p p e Rö-t i Rö-t e r h i e l Rö-t s i c h n i c h Rö-t b l o f s , s o n d e r n
